The phrase „ex nihilo“ means literally “out of nothing”. It is used in metaphysics and theology as a concept of creation. These works represent the first acts of inception, the birth of planets: molten and liquid cores of matter hold together by the sheer power of gravity, floating above the abyss of chaos. Both paintings are done with acrylics, allowing the use of interference colors which change their hue depending on the viewing angle.
